SUMMARY:Arthur Coates & Kerran Cotterell present - Music For Cows
DESCRIPTION:Arthur Coates & Kerran Cotterell are a two-man trad tornado tearing through the folk world with foot percussion\, fiddle\, guitar\, vocals\, and groove to spare. Kitted out with bouncing basslines\, tight harmonies\, and offbeat charm\, they’re just a couple of lads with a tangle of strings – yet they somehow summon the sound and swagger of a much bigger band. Their sets blend original material with tunes they’ve found in the wild\, delivered with harmonies\, tall tales\, and a streak of serious silliness. \nArthur and Kerran have grown from pub jam sessions to becoming festival favourites across the UK. As broadcaster Mike Blackburn put it: “One of the very best live acts I’ve ever seen – and I’ve seen a lot!” They’ve earned repeat invitations and enthusiastic followings at events like Sidmouth Folk Week\, the UK’s longest-running folk festival; Purbeck Valley\, known for spotlighting rising talent; and the Scots Fiddle Festival\, a cornerstone of Scotland’s traditional music scene. Their growing profile has also reached international audiences\, with a 2024 tour of Québec and Ontario and a standout set at Festival Trad Montréal\, one of Québec’s premier traditional music events. In 2025\, they were named winners of the Robinson Emerging Artist Showcase at the Goderich Celtic Roots Festival\, Canada’s leading pan-Celtic celebration. With 2025 performances at the UK’s prestigious Shrewsbury Folk Festival\, as well as FolkEast and Aberdeen’s Tall Ships Festival\, they’re quickly becoming one of the most talked-about acts on the circuit. \nThere is a 50p charge for processing card payments

SUMMARY:Simon Currie Jazz Quartet
DESCRIPTION:Simon was a member of The National Youth Jazz Orchestra (NYJO). This enabled him to share the concert platform with the likes of GEORGE SHEARING\, MEL TORMÉ\, PEGGY LEE\, ROSEMARY CLOONEY\, SHORTY ROGERS\, KAY STARR\, BROOK BENTON\, AL MARTINO\, JOHN WILLIAMS\, JIMMY WITHERSPOON\, VIC DAMONE and JOHNNY DANKWORTH to name but a few.  He then worked in different bands playing with JOHNNY HOWARD\, RAY McVAY\, BERT KAEMPFERT\, JOE LOSS\, GLENN and HERB MILLER. \nDuring stints playing at The Monte Carlo Casino in the South of France\, he found himself backing musical legends as diverse as GEORGE BENSON\, STEVIE WONDER\, DONNA SUMMER\, LIZA MINELLI\, THE THREE DEGREES\, SAMMY DAVIES JNR\, THE TEMPTATIONS\, THE FOUR TOPS and JERRY LEWIS. \nSimon is a relatively rare breed of musician\, one who is equally at home playing flute\, clarinet\, soprano\, alto\, tenor or baritone sax. He also composes\, arranges\, does regular session work\, and even finds the time to front his own jazz band! \nIn 2001 Simon joined PAUL JONES AND THE MANFREDS (ex MANFRED MANN)\, and has toured with guest artists COLIN BLUNSTONE\, CHRIS FARLOWE\, LONG JOHN BALDRY\, PAUL YOUNG\, ALLAN PRICE\, PP ARNOLD\, ZOOT MONEY and CLIFF BENNET \nWe are delighted to have him perform with his Quartet at Daglingworth.
